Setup a RSS Feed

This instruction is based on WebCalendar version 1.1.x
[edit] Requirements for 'Admins':
the 'admin'-users has to enable the following options at the 'System Settings' -> register tab 'others':
- Allow remote subscriptions: YES
- Enable RSS feed: YES
- don't forget pushing the "Save"-Button at least
after these modifcations the 'normal' user has to change the following entries.
[edit] Requirements for 'User'
the 'normal'-user have to edit the register tab 'Subscribe/Publish' which are located at 'Preferences' and enable the option:
- Enable RRS feed: YES
Choosing the proper adjustment for
- Allow remote viewing of: All entries, Public & Confidential entries, Public entries
- copy the URL entry of RSS
- don't forget pushing the "Save Preference"-Button at least
[edit] Requirements for 'RSS feed Readers'
after the changings you made just copy the URL (e.g. http://webserver/WebCalendar/rrs.php?user=xxx) and paste it to your prefered RSS-Feed Reader, voila that's all.
[edit] Making ajustments to the rss feed
It is possible to edit and filter the rss stream with finer detail using the rss.php file inside the webcalender directory. You can edit variables or just use the examples to filter the stream eg.
rss.php?cat_id=4
Using this rss address will only show category '4' entries in the calendar.
